2007 Best Veterinarians and Staff

If you are looking for the best veterinary practice in the Pittsburgh area...you need to make an appointment at Northern Pike Veterinary Hospital. We can’t say enough good things about the vets, the staff and the practice as a whole.

Dr. Mary Snyder was the first vet that we experienced at NPVH. She has restored my faith and trust in veterinary medicine. She is extremely thorough, an articulate communicator, and has a genuine concern for my pet’s quality of life. Her ability to translate veterinary science in simple terms is also important to me, so that I can make an informed decision regarding my pet’s health care. But, as far as Ollie is concerned...her bedside manner is what truly sets her apart.

My dog Ollie is an extremely temperamental terrier mix who is forever unpredictable. But, Dr. Snyder has a way with him that gets us through each visit unscathed. He actually LOVES visiting the office. In our eyes, she has become “The Dog Vet Whisperer” .

I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Dr. William Schessler, but I have heard only good things about him as well by friends who have met with him.

The practice overall has a very dedicated and talented staff. I have never seen a staff who is so friendly, helpful and who, in today’s business climate, offers incomparable customer service. Very impressive to those of us who are cognizant due to contrary experiences.

Which will bring me to Dr. Suzanne Martin, who owns the practice of Northern Pike Veterinary Hospital. This practice could not become what it is today without a real leader with vision. NPVH didn’t happen over night and I hope that she is aware of her success and knows that her hard work is paying off. I can’t fathom doing her job every day as a vet, and then, having the strength and energy to manage a business successfully on top of that! [Some folks have a hard time just getting out of bed in the morning].

I have referred a number of friends and family to NPVH and they have expressed my same views [may be not as emphatically as I have], but again, NPVH has never let me down.

I guess the bottom line is I truly admire and respect everyone who is a part of NPVH for their dedication, passion for animals and the ability to have the strength and courage to do it every day. Thanks for making a difference...
